Rolling Along

My quilt magazine editor (Diane Harris) posted a challenge up for us this year. It's a 365 block monster done on a daily basis (I'm assuming the blocks are 6" finished) but I haven't delved into the Australian web site to check this out.

I also looked at the Craftsy BOM to see whether I wanted to do this one this year and I'm not too all about it. Perhaps this Australian quilt may be a nice substitute.

I've also picked up my first Amish with a Twist BOM from The Hen House (Carol...they are ready!).

I decided not to do the Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt this year, and I'm kinda bummed I didn't. It's quite nice from what I'm seeing posted out there on FB, but if I decide this 365 day thing is too much, it's not too late to print off the instructions for each week. I have a few weeks yet to decide on that.

Where am I going with all of this? I've decided I like doing a variety. Doing 300 of the same blocks is pretty boring to me and it feels more like assembly work then it does creativity and expression.

Talk about variety, here's what I did yesterday while Jim was out picking up his trailer.

Crops

Egg Basket

Farm Fresh Flower

Farmhouse
I'm not naming these blocks by the way. The creator of Farm Girl Vintage did. Not sure why the pics are blurry either?!? I had my camera set differently so this is probably the reason.

I also long armed yesterday and I am currently up to 12 different threads in Stitcher's Garden.

The day today started out with me rounding up the pieces and parts of Laura strung from here to there. Jim and I are planning on trading her in today (somewhere) and finding this elusive Juki machine I have my eye on. We may end up as far away as Grand Rapids, or even South Bend, Indiana, depending on who has what I've got and what I want out of my current machine. Wish us luck!

  1. I'll go get mine sometime this week. Thanks for the reminder, I kind of forgot about it. Hope you found your Juki :)
