Starting to Construct?

Probably not. 9L was indeed completed yesterday, but I feel like to need to take a break from the quilt for a few days and work on something else. I have accomplished a lot in less then a week and quite frankly, feel like if I continue, I won't be doing my best work.

To shift my gears away from Amazon Star, I am doing a little something each Tuesday (did I mention this?) called "The First Snow". It's a weekly block available online sponsored by Quilters Newsletter magazine. The paper pieced patterns are free and each house you construct is embellished a little differently, depending on whether you even want to embellish them at all.

The author leaves all the creativity up to you and doesn't give you very much in the way of hints or construction except for the houses themselves. I've been finding lots of things around the house to use in each of the house blocks so I'm okay with improv as much as the next creative person.

Today is also the first of the month, meaning I should be receiving my Sugar Block block soon via e-mail. I know Amy is busy shooting her Craftsy classes and writing her book, so hopefully we will see it today before the day is completed.

I feel like DW and I need to work together today. I have that quilt I loaded last week still sitting on the frame completely untouched and unappreciated. I feel bad as I pass it a thousand times a day while working on Amazon Star and so today, DW and I will rekindle our friendship and hope future activities won't keep us apart nearly this long again.
